Im Rahmen des Interessenskurses „Römischer Alltag“ probierten am 19.11.2021 einige interessierte Schüler*innen aus den ersten und zweiten Klassen unter unserer fachkundigen Anleitung (Prof. Kaiser und Prof. Bausch) originale römische Rezepte nachzukochen.
Nach einer kurzen theoretischen Einführung zur Esskultur bei den Römern gingen die Schüler*innen ans Werk: Jede*r bereitete sich selbst einen typischen Frühstücksaufstrich (moretum) zu, den der Dichter Vergil in einem Gedicht detailliert beschrieben hat. Dabei wurde gemörsert, geschnitten, geplaudert, gerochen, gekostet, gekocht….Über den Beamer konnte mitverfolgt werden, wie die jeweiligen Zutaten zu schneiden sind. Danach kreierten wir auch noch ein Olivenpesto nach einem Rezept des römischen Starkochs Apicius und kochten im Anschluss ein exotisches Gericht aus Hühnerfleisch, Pinienkernen und Honig (pullum numidicum: ebenfalls von Apicius).
Als Nachspeise gab es noch Datteln, Melonen und Weintrauben.
Die Schüler*innen waren fleißig bei der Sache und letztendlich schmeckten die Gerichte der Mehrheit auch, obwohl der Geschmack der Römer doch sehr anders gewesen sein musste.
